c.1928 Herb Pennock PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Charles M. Conlon Photo Used for Pennock's 1933 Goudey #138 Subject - Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2"

1933 GOUDEY PENNOCK IMAGE!!! HOF southpaw Herb Pennock pitched 22 MLB seasons, with 11 of those years spent in the Big Apple as a NY Yankees ace. One of his greatest seasons was the 1927 campaign, when he ably assisted the Yankees in cakewalking to a World Series title. This remarkable circa 1928 PSA Type 1 image was taken the following season at Yankee Stadium, revealing the Cooperstown inductee donning his classic pinstripes as he tosses a pitch on the sidelines. Most significantly, it was struck by the legendary photographer Charles M. Conlon and is the exact image used for Pennock's renowned 1933 Goudey #138 subject! The wellcentered 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" illustration has remained in outstanding condition, offering its viewers world-class clarity and contrast while eluding any glaring flaws over the past 95 years. Negligible wrinkles are evident near a few of the corners, and the verso includes the pencil notation "Herbert L. PENNOCK" written in Charles Conlon's hand. A magnificent offering, this super rare masterpiece earns its exalted stature with its direct affiliation with Pennock's legendary 1933 Goudey!
