(LOT 232)
1932 World Series New York Yankees Press Pass Games 1 & 2 - Ruth's Last WS Home Games & the "Called Shot" World Series; Punched-Cancelled PSA Authentic

BABE'S "CALLED SHOT" WORLD SERIES!!! One of only five PSA encapsulated examples, this outstanding 1932 World Series press pass (hole punched and cancelled) was issued for Games One and Two at Yankee Stadium, with this being the Bambino's final Fall Classic appearance. After the Yankees bested the Cubbies the first two games, the series would move to Chicago's Wrigley Field on October 1st for Game Three, when Babe Ruth would wallop his iconic "Called Shot" homer off of the center field scoreboard in the fifth inning, after allegedly pointing out towards center field directly before Charlie Root's pitch.

Fact or fiction? Myth or legend? Did he or didn't he? As majestic as the Bambino's monstrous home run truly is, the actual ambiguity of the event is even more intriguing. Indeed, some 91 years later, baseball historians are still pondering the conundrum of a lifetime: did Babe Ruth actually point towards the centerfield bleachers and "call" his home run or was he simply making a hand gesture towards Charlie Root? While sports fans may never achieve full resolution for that momentous question, what we do know with 100% certainty is that Ruth's "Called Shot" remains a larger-than-life story about baseball's undisputed greatest all-time player!
