(LOT 127)
1935 Exhibits 4 on 1 Complete PSA Registered Set - #4 on Set Registry with 4.66 GPA

The 1935 Four-on-One Exhibits set was once again 16 cards holding four teammates on each card that measured about 3-3/8" by 5-5/8". Each card is blank-backed and printed in slate blue, with the player's name printed beneath his image. This Hall of Fame-heavy release includes Lou Gehrig, Lefty Gomez, Jimmie Fox, Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Joe Cronin, Dizzy Dean, Frankie Frisch and Babe Ruth, to name a few. This is, in fact, Ruth's final player card appearance as a member of the Boston Braves. The offered 4th ranked PSA Set Registry set with a 4.656 GPA is highlighted by Berger/Brandt/Hogan/Ruth (PSA 5), Critz/Hubbell/Ott/Terry PSA 4), Dickey/Gehrig/Gomez/Lazzeri (PSA 4) and Cramer/Foxx/Johnson/Mahaffey (PSA 5). The offered features two PSA 5.5 examples, seven PSA 5s, one PSA 4.5 and six PSA 4s. Virtually low-pop across the board, there is one POP 1 issue, four POP 2 and five POP 3, with each of the remaining cards listing as below ten equaling the grades. While there are no "highest graded" examples included here, there are four with only a single card eclipsing the grade and two with only a pair graded higher! The 1935 Four-on-One Exhibits set is one of the more scarce issues to find in high-grade.
