1934 Exhibits 4 on 1 Complete PSA Registered Set - #4 on Set Registry with 4.16 GPA
The 1934 Four-on-One Exhibit featured 16 cards, each measuring approximately 3/8" by 5-5/8" and carrying four teammates for a total of 64 ballplayers all together. These postcard-backed issues came in a variety of colors, including blue, brown, olive green, or violet with each unnumbered. This set appeared slightly lighter in tone than previous releases, making them more recognizable. A treasure trove of Hall of Fame talent is represented with the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Carl Hubbell, Mel Ott, Mickey Cochrane, Lloyd and Paul Waner, Chuck Klein and Joe Cronin, among others. Anchoring this 4-player card set are Ruth/Gomez/Gehrig/Dickey (PSA 4); Ryan/Terry/Hubbell/Ott (PSA 4) and Cochrane/Goslin/Marberry/Gehringer (PSA 4.5). This extraordinary gathering, with a 4.156 GPA, ranks #4 on the Current PSA Set Registry and includes five PSA 5s, three PSA 4.5s, six PSA 4s and one PSA 2MK. There are five POP 1 examples and two POP 2s and POP 3s. The Koenicke/Leslie/Lopez/Wright issue is the highest graded according to PSA, and there are two others with only a single card grade higher and two with a pair surpassing the offered grade.
