1932 U.S. Caramel #8 Chick Hafey PSA 8 NM-MT – Only One Example Graded Higher!
HIGH GRADE HAFEY!!! The 1932 U.S. Caramel set, manufactured by a Boston confectioner, features 32 athletes, 27 of whom are baseball players. One of its popular HOF subjects is outfielder Charles "Chick" Hafey, with this PSA 8 NM-MT offering one of only nine PSA examples at this lofty plateau and a single PSA 8.5 specimen graded higher! Hafey led the NL in batting in 1931 with a stellar .349 mark, so it comes as no coincidence that he would be included in this prestigious set. Arguably his most prestigious issue, Hafey's classic portrait pose and robust red background have defied time, with the sharp corners and pack-fresh surfaces substantiating the hallowed assessment. A perfect testament to Chick's splendid 13-year career with the Cardinals and Reds, it has remarkably been bested by only a single PSA Hafey subject!
