(LOT 50)
1925 Exhibits George H. "Babe" Ruth PSA 4 VG-EX – POP 2; Only One PSA Example Graded Higher!

MID-GRADE RUTH EXHIBIT!!! The 1925 Exhibit Supply Co. "gray tint" set includes 128 subjects, with its most coveted subject being the exalted Lou Gehrig rookie card. Measuring 3-3/8" x 5-3/8", next in line with respect to desirability and value is the George H. Babe Ruth exhibit card, presented here in a stellar PSA 4 VG-EX holder. Extremely condition sensitive, only a single other PSA example has achieved this mid-grade assessment with a sole PSA 5 specimen graded higher! Fresh off the heels of a monster 1924 campaign that saw the great Bambino lead the AL in homers (46), batting average (.378), total bases (391) and OPS (1.252), it comes as little surprise that the Chicago based Exhibit Supply Co. would include the Babe in their 1925 set. The imposing Ruthian batting image as he watched another prodigious blast sail towards the Yankee Stadium grandstands, is truly magnificent. Crystal-clear clarity, a fine gray-tinted contrast, and no obtrusive surface flaws justify the grade. Preventing a higher assessment is corner wear, some mild left edge chipping and a diminutive scuff on Ruth's neck. The George H. "Babe" Ruth text box is the final compliment for one of Ruth's rarest 1920s cardboard marvels!
