SCARCE 1930s BAMBINO!!! This PSA 2 Good 1932 D32 Drake's Cake #61 Babe Ruth truly resides as one of his scarcest issues. One of only three examples at this plateau, PSA's Pop Chart lists only 14 total specimens in any grade! Measuring 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" and printed on thin stock, this obscure set includes 64 prominent Hollywood stars, with the Sultan of Swat being the sole baseball player. A single card was included in a package of Drake's Yankee Cakes, and considering their fragile state, most surviving examples reflect low grades. Originally thought to have been released in 1925, considering various subjects mention 1932 movies such as "Sky Devils" and "The Silver Lining", PSA has recently updated the set as being a 1932 issue. Ruth's unparalleled global popularity as well as his starring roles in "Headin' Home", "The Babe Comes Home", and several short films produced by Universal Studios rightfully prompted his inclusion in this set. Ruth's imposing portrait image is breathtaking to say the least, with the 2 assessment due to several stray wrinkles as well as general surface and corner wear. The final superlative is the more obscure Yankee Cake ad back, with the right to own a copy of this elusive 1932 Ruth masterpiece stealing the show!
