(LOT 40)
1923 W515-1 #47 "Babe" Ruth Hand Cut PSA 7 NM – POP 3; Only 3 PSA Examples Graded Higher!

NEAR-MINT BAMBINO!!! Graded an outstanding PSA 7, this 1923 W515-1 #47 Babe Ruth strip card is one of only three PSA examples at this hallowed tier, with a paltry three copies graded higher! The 1923 W515 strip card set includes 60 subjects with checklist numbers, originally offered to individuals as six separate strips, each of which included 10 cards. Arguably speaking, the set's most popular subject may be the #47 subject presented here do to the classic half-bust Bambino image that is flanked by a tranquil green background.

Of utmost importance are the seemingly precision-cut edges, whereby you can see the original strip's dotted lines on each side. Super clean surfaces and pinpoint corners are the final compliments supporting the assessment, and it should be noted that roughly two-thirds of the total PSA encapsulated copies reflect Authentic grades primarily due to irregular cuts. Issued in the year that the Yankees would capture their first championship, it effectively serves as a sheer reminder of how the incomparable Sultan of Swat dominated the game like no player before or after him, outhomering nearly every MLB squad with his abundance of tape measure blasts!
