1939 Baseball Centennial Stamps Complete Set with Four PSA-Graded

HOF HONOREES!!!... The 1939 "Centennial of Baseball" Artistamp baseball collection consists of 25 stamps measuring 1-5/8" x 2-1/8" each featured a virtual Mount Olympus of baseball heroes. The brainchild of Emery A. Parichy who entrusted Al Demaree to create the artwork for these minuscule gems. Originally issued as a complete set on a full sheet (Five rows of five stamps per row), the complete set offered here includes a #15 Ty Cobb PSA 8, #20 Christy Mathewson PSA 8.5, #21 Babe Ruth PSA 2 & #25 Cy Young PSA 2.5; the following five issues of #12 Ban Johnson, #13, #14 Alexander, #19 Lajoie and #24 Honus Wagner with no adhesive on the backs (possibly soaked off) with the remainder ungraded. This 1939 "Centennial of Baseball" corresponded with the celebration of the opening of the National Baseball Hall of fame in Cooperstown and the induction of the first classes into the Hall of Fame including the inaugural 1936 inductees Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson (posthumously), Babe Ruth and Honus Wagner. Overall condition of this complete set is near-mint to mint and fresh throughout. The original and very rare booklet produced for this set is not included.
