1928 Tharp's Ice Cream Starter Set w/19 SGC Graded Cards – 3.26 Cumulative G.P.A. – Includes 3 Hall of Famers (Eppa Rixey; Waite Hoyt & "Bucky" Harris)
THARP'S STARTER SET!!!... The 1928 campaign would see a number of distinguished ice cream companies issue baseball cards with their sweet tooth products including Yuengling's, Harrington's and Tharp's. Designated as F50s, the cards in these obscure 60-card sets measure approximately 1-3/8" x 2-1/2", and are strikingly similar to the 1927 York Caramels and 1928 W502 issues. The Tharp's subjects are the rarest of these three ice cream brands while being extremely condition sensitive, and finding any of these examples is a painstaking task.

That said, presented here is an incredible 19-card Tharp's "starter-lot", with all of the cards encapsulated by SGC and tallying a formidable 3.26 Cumulative GPA. Miraculously, more than half the cards (10) depict mid-grade assessments including four SGC 5s; one SGC 4.5 and five SGC 4s (additional grades are three SGC 3s; two SGC 2s; one SGC 1.5 and three SGC 1s). Three Hall of Famers are also included, with the Cooperstown Inductees being: #16 Eppa Rixey (SGC 1); #30 Waite Hoyt (SGC 1) and #41 Stanley "Bucky" Harris (SGC 3). A magnificent "starter-lot", the final bidder will find themselves with roughly one-third of this ultra-scarce Tharp's set complete, with a complete list of all 19 subjects and their respective SGC grades as follows:
