1964 Cleveland Browns Autographed Football - JSA LOA
In 1964, the Cleveland Browns shocked the football world defeating the Johnny Unitas-led Baltimore Colts 27-0 in the NFL Championship title game. Stacked with future Hall of Famers like Unitas, Lenny Moore, John Mackey, Gino Marchetti and Raymond Berry, the heavily favored Colts were upended by a Browns team that boasted a few HOFers of their own with Jim Brown, Lou Groza, Paul Warfield and Gene Hickerson. Offered is a vintage Wilson football inscribed "1964 N.F.L. WORLD CHAMPIONS - CLEV. BROWNS" that includes 37 autographs from that championship squad including Brown, Warfield, Groza & Hickerson. Primarily signed in blue ballpoint, the signatures are somewhat faint overall with a 4-5 strength and virtually every autograph is easily legible. The ball remains in nice condition with light circular indentations on the bottom two panels as if from the display pedestal. A desirable artifact from one of the great teams who engineered one of the greatest upsets in NFL history! JSA LOA
