Babe Ruth 1926 Spalding America Champions – "Nov. 1926 Copyright" (PSA NM/MT 8) - "1 of 1"; Only One "1926 Copyright" Graded Higher!
Presented here is the extremely obscure 1926 Spalding America Champion Babe Ruth subject in an astonishing PSA NM/MT 8 holder. Unique for the grade, it has currently been bested by only a sole PSA 9 example, and stands as a resounding testament to the Bambino's unparalleled stature. Issued by the Spalding Sporting Goods Company during the peak of Ruth's remarkable career, a myriad of celebrated sports stars are included in this approximate 210-subject set. Measuring some 1-1/2" x 2-3/16", it suffices as one of the largest multi-sports compilations for any era, and synonymous with any pre-war gathering, its most popular subject is the incomparable 'Sultan of Swat".
Distributed during the 1926 campaign, that season would see the "Babe" lead the Junior Circuit in almost every major offensive category including Home Runs (47), R.B.I.'s (153), OPS (1.253), and Total Bases (365). Nearly pristine, this pack-fresh marvel is highlighted by the crystal-clear Babe Ruth portrait image that effectively turns back the clock 95 years to an era when the Bambino was out-homering virtually every MLB team. The corners are razor-sharp, ultra-clean surfaces are consistent with the assessment, and the verso reveals a brief Ruth biography and critical "Nov. 1926 Copyright". A classic Ruthian offer to say the least, other than a handful of exhibit cards, it resides as one of the few 1926 Babe Ruth issues made available to the general public!
