1915 Boston Red Sox Fatima Tobacco Advertisement with Rookie Babe Ruth
Produced just prior to the 1915 World Series pitting the Red Sox against the Philadelphia Phillies, the offered 19-3/4" x 13-1/4" window advertisement display features the rookie Babe Ruth and his Boston mates after going 101-50 with Ruth pitching to an 18-8 record in 32 starts. The Red Sox beat the Phillies in five games, despite Ruth never taking the mound. The Boston Red Sox team photo remains clear and vivid for a 106-year-old piece, including full rich colors emanating from the cigarette pack. Edge and corners appear relatively sharp; light center crease as issued with no other apparent defects on the front. An EX-MT technical assessment were it not for the slight crease.
