Incredibly Rare 1915 St. Mary's Industrial School 32 Page Program Featuring an Interior Image of the Baseball Team with Babe Ruth
Baltimore's St. Mary's Industrial School, and more specifically Brother Matthias Boutlier, helped ground the rambunctious and mischievous "Babe" Ruth during his formative years. The young Ruth learned the game of baseball and dominated as a pitcher leading his St. Mary's team to a league championship prior to signing a professional contract in 1914. His exploits as a pitcher and certainly as a hitter are well documented. The offered is a 1915 Annual Concert Program from St. Mary's Band and Vocal Class featuring school highlights including "Our League Champions" baseball team with Babe Ruth at center. The 32-page program is nearly identical to the previous year's publication (24 pp.) except for a few additional advertising pages. Insignificant edge wear and a small watermark on the reverse do not take away the bright blue and red print on the front and back cover. Binding intact with slight rust at the staples; minimal edge paper loss apparent; light toning and handling wear. Overall VG condition, but so rare, condition is hardly factor!
