(LOT 100)
1909 T206 Rube Marquard "Portrait" – Piedmont 350 Subjects/Factory 25 (PSA NM/MT 8) - "1 of 4" Piedmonts; Highest Graded Example for ALL Ad Backs!"

Presented here is a breathtaking PSA NM/MT 8 Rube Marquard "portrait" offering with a Piedmont 350 Subjects verso that along with a handful of other examples resides as the finest Piedmont subject on the illustrious PSA "Pop" charts! Marquard achieved his Hall of Fame credentials pitching with the New York Giants and managed to win over 200 games. More impressively, from 1911 – 1913 he won 73 games while pitching in the immortal Christy Mathewson's shadow; with both Cooperstown icons leading the Giants to 3 consecutive National League pennants.

Likewise, his brilliant Carl Horner portrait-pose displays championship caliber, with this "best of the rest" offering's incredible aesthetics justifying its pinnacle assessment. Marquard's stoic expression exhibits bright facial colors and along with a dazzling white N.Y. uniform, the pristine like central image is affixed to a flawless olive green hued background. The relatively well-centered image slightly favors the upper right edges and is situated between four snow-white borders as well as a razor-sharp perimeter. The verso's "Piedmont Cigarette 350 Subjects" advertisement presents itself in vivid bold blue text, the final stamp of approval for this "finest of its kind" gem that will ultimately reside in one of the premier tobacco compilations!
