1910 E98 "Black Swamp" Hal Chase - Red Background (PSA NM/MT 8) – Only 1 Graded Higher!
"Prince Hal" as he was commonly referred to, while not a Hall of Famer, was considered by many pre-WWII experts (including Babe Ruth) as the greatest all around 1st baseman. Unfortunately for Chase, his alleged gambling tendencies eventually led to his banishment from baseball as well as Cooperstown. Yet, as with the infamous "Black Sox Eight", it is this legacy that has ultimately created a significant following with a myriad of enthusiasts scrambling to capture his most prized artifacts.

That said, what could be more formidable that owing a Near Mint/Mint 8 Hals chase card that celebrated its 107th birthday in 2017. Such is the case for this unfathomable PSA 8 "Black Swamp" E98 offering that has only been bested by a single PSA example! After scouring this card, most would agree that virtually every technical aspect is worthy of the "Mint 9" assessment including a captivating Chase throwing image, gleaming surfaces and blistering sharp corner tips.

While we can only assume that the somewhat skewed image favoring the left edge prevents a higher grade, its overall aesthetic brilliance easily places it as one of "Price Hal's" highly coveted marvels!
