On July 14, 1968, Henry Aaron became the 8th player to reach the 500-homer milestone when he belted a 3-run dinger off of Giants right-hander Mike McCormick in the 3rd inning. Only a year earlier to the day (July 14, 1967), long-time teammate Eddie Mathews had blasted his 500th home run, exactly two months after the legendary Mickey Mantle hit his 500th round tripper on May 14th. Ironically, Topps chose to once again utilize a popular Aaron batting image for his 1968 #110 subject, with this breathtaking PSA Gem Mint 10 marvel joining a mere 3 other specimens as the finest of its kind!
