(LOT 1795)
1934 Pittsburgh Pirates and Honus Wagner Multi-Signed Baseball PSA LOA

HONUS WAGNER BALL!!! The 1934 Pirates finished 5th in the NL, despite having two Hall of Famers on their coaching staff on Pie Traynor and Honus Wagner. Wagner is arguably the greatest Pittsburgh Pirates of all time and certainly by 1934. As a 10-year-old, our consignor attended a 1934 game with his cousin and former minor leaguer, Elmer Trapp, where he got the ball and had it signed. Offered here is a 1934 Pittsburgh Pirates ball signed by seven players including Pat Veltman, Cookie Lavagetto, Gus Suhr, Bill Harris, coach Honus Wagner, Trapp and one unknown. The ball presents as heavily worn though Wagner's autograph remains fairly strong ("5-6" strength) arched across the South panel in black fountain. Included with this lot is a PSA LOA; 1934 postcard of Trapp, Wagner and Tommy Thevenow; 8" x 10" of Trapp as a member of a Williamsburg team; and two photos of Major Robert Gossman, for whom Wagner signed this ball, during his military deployments. This ball would make a wonderful addition to any Hall of Fame signed baseball collection, with none other than the Flying Dutchman penning his signature.
