(LOT 1646)
Group of (10) 1910 E104-2 Nadja Caramel Pittsburgh Pirates with 8 Blank Backs - All Graded
This extremely rare near-complete E104-2 candy set includes 10 of the 11 Pittsburgh Pirates subjects, regionally issued in 1910 to commemorate Pittsburgh's 1909 World Series championship against Ty Cobb's Tigers. It should be noted that the PSA 2 Honus Wagner was pulled out of the set and is being sold as a separate lot in this auction. The highlight of this hallowed offering is the POP 1 PSA 4.5 Fred Clarke HOF subject proudly standing alone as the highest graded example. Cards for this elusive gathering include both blank and Nadja backs, listed as follows: Blank Back - PSA 4.5: Clarke (HOF); PSA 2: Phillippe; SGC 3: Leever, SGC 2: Leach, and Miller; SGC 1.5: Maddox, and Wilson; and SGC 1: Gibson. Nadja Back: SGC 2: Adams; and SGC Authentic: Hyatt. Current estimated value of $3,000.
