1932 U.S. Caramel #11 Rogers Hornsby PSA 7 NM

THE RAJAH!!! This scarce for the grade PSA 7 1932 U.S. Caramel Rogers Hornsby offering is one of only five PSA examples at this hallowed assessment, with a meager five specimens graded higher! Nicknamed "The Rajah", Hornsby's stature as one of baseball's greatest all-time hitters stems from his unfathomable five-year run from 1921 through 1925 that produced three .400+ batting seasons and a beyond amazing .401 batting average over that historic span. Ultimately ending his career with baseball's second highest batting average (.358) behind Cobb's .366 mark, this incredible keepsake has managed to sustain many of its original attributes. The HOF second-sacker's classic portrait pose is beyond breathtaking, encompassed by a nearly impeccable bold red background. Atypical for any '32 Caramel subject, the illustration exhibits excellent centering, only revealing a slight partiality towards the right edge, and the corners still boast a majority of their original square formations. Relatively clean surfaces include a fine verso that only reflects some negligible discoloring near the lower edge. One of Hornsby's most elusive cards in high-grade, it resides as a grand testament to his unparalleled hitting prowess!
