1960 Dodgers Pitching Staff with Sandy Koufax & Drysdale PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Sporting News Photo - Measures Approx. 8" x 8"
KOUFAX & DRYSDALE!!! For the longest time, baseball tradition has been that pitchers and catchers report to spring training first, typically around mid-February. This 1960 PSA Type 1 photo substantiates that notion, with eight LA Dodgers hurlers surrounding a crouched pitching coach Joe Becker at Vero Beach, Florida in February 1960. From left to right, the hurlers include Craig, Williams, Klippstein, Drysdale/HOF, Sherry, Koufax/HOF, Labine, and Podres. Boasting superior contrast and clarity, this 8"' x 8" memento has side-stepped any obtrusive blemishes, with only some diminutive white surface speckles scattered along the image's lower region (across the pants of several players). The flipside includes a critical caption and Sporting News sticker, the final exclamation point for an extremely obscure image depicting the heart of the Dodgers 1960 pitching staff!
