(LOT 1028)
1956 World Series Mickey Mantle & Dwight Eisenhower PSA Type 1 Encapsulated William C. Greene Photo - Measures Approx. 10" x 8"

THE MICK GREETS THE PRESIDENT!!! The 1956 Fall Classic would be the final Subway Series between the N.Y. Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers, with the Yankees exacting revenge for their 1955 loss to Dem Bums by besting the Dodgers in seven games. Game One would be played at Ebbets Field, with President Dwight Eisenhower attending and greeting the players on the field before the opening pitch. This historic PSA Type 1 photo reveals President Eisenhower shaking hands with the immortal Mickey Mantle as his teammates stand in line to likewise greet the President. Measuring 10" x 8" and boasting a brilliant crystal-clear image, the only notable flaw is some discoloring along the lower left edge, with the critical William C. Greene credit stamp on the verso. Brooklyn would win Game One by a 6-3 score behind the crafty pitching of Sal Maglie, with Mantle, Martin, Robinson and Hodges all blasting home runs as an added treat for the President!
