1914 Cracker Jack #66 Nap Lajoie PSA 4 VG-EX

NAP CANDY TREAT!!! The 1914 Cracker Jack subjects are extremely tougher to find in mid-grade or higher assessments than their 1915 counterparts due to the 1914 set being unavailable to receive via mail order. That said, this PSA 4 VG-EX 1914 Cracker Jack Nap Lajoie boasts splendid eye appeal, portraying one of baseball's greatest second-sackers. A truly beloved player, Napoleon Lajoie represented the embodiment of a national hero. His .426 batting average in 1901 still stands as the modern-day record, the same season he claimed the inaugural 20th century Triple Crown title. He ended his sensational 21-year career with 3,243 safeties to the tune of a .338 lifetime average, and it is no surprise Lajoie was a second ballot Hall of Famer. His picturesque throwing image is crystal clear, set against a vibrant red background and tranquil green hues. The illustration atypically reveals virtually dead-on centering between four somewhat toned borders revealing faint candy corn staining, with the relatively clean surface eluding obtrusive candy corn staining and notable creases. Some negligible spotted staining is evident on the verso, with the even corner wear consistent with the grade. One of the finest mid-grade specimens you will ever encounter, its spectacular presentation truly surpasses the 4 assessment!
