Charles Comiskey Typed Signed Letter To Mr. George E. Mills Dated July 11, 1913 JSA LOA
Letter to Mils says, "Dear Sir: I am herewith enclosing check for the $50 receipt of same. Would also appreciate if you would send me the averages of the Eastern Association showing the work Daly has done up to date. From the reports I had on this man, he appears to be the makings of a good hitting catcher. With kindest personal regards, I am, Sincerely yours, Charles Comiskey. PS: Keep me posted as to your movements."
An incredible piece of history coming from Charles Comiskey, a key person in the formation of the American League, and was also founding owner of the Chicago White Sox. Comiskey Park, the White Sox' storied baseball stadium, was built under his guidance and named for him. Comiskey's reputation was permanently tarnished by his team's involvement in the Black Sox Scandal, although he was inducted as an executive into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
