(LOT 1846)
1980 Playoff Lineup Signed by Pete Maravich and Larry Bird PSA/DNA LOA

A rare opportunity indeed, this line-up sheet from the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics game highlights the only season Pete Maravich played with the Celtics, alongside then-rookie Larry Bird from Indiana University. Maravich would retire after this season, making way for Bird, who was dubbed "The Great White Hope" from French Lick, Indiana. Bird would go on to become one of the most heralded NBA superstars of all time and was named Rookie of the Year in 1980. The game took place on March 22, 1980, where the Cavaliers defeated the Celtics 109-105. Despite the loss, Maravich was thrilled to be with a team he enjoyed playing for. Our consignor was fortunate to obtain signatures on the reverse of this line-up sheet from notable players, including Eric Fernsten, Rick Robey, Don Chaney, M.L. Carr, Gerald Henderson, Jeff Judkins, and Hall of Famers Pete Maravich ("Pistol Pete 44") and Larry Bird ("L. Bird"), who famously beat out Magic Johnson for the Rookie of the Year honor. PSA/DNA LOA.
