(LOT 1764)
Branch Rickey Signed Proposal for Exhibition Games Between St. Louis Cardinals and Cardinals Farm Club Rochester Red Wings PSA/DNA LOA

This remarkable collection features three Western Union telegrams from Branch Rickey, Al Lang, and M.M. Deaderick, along with accompanying communication transmittals. Notably, Branch Rickey signs a proposal for exhibition games between the St. Louis Cardinals and their farm team, the Rochester International League Champions, addressed to M.M. Deaderick, Secretary of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. In a letter dated December 11, 1929, Rickey notes that the Yankees and Braves have completed their spring training by March 25, 1929, and expresses his desire to schedule as many games as possible for the Cardinals against the Rochester team. The December 11 letter features Rickey's genuine autograph, while a letter dated November 7 includes a secretarial signature. This group is a true treasure for baseball enthusiasts!
