(LOT 924)
1909-11 T206 Johnny Evers with Bat Chicago on Shirt Broad Leaf 350/25 SGC 4.5 VG-EX+

Despite coming up with the Chicago Cubs as a shortstop, Johnny Evers was placed at second base by manager Franks Selee, where he would remain for the next decade. He was one third of the famed Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance double play combination that helped lead the Cubs to World Series titles in 1907 and 1908. Oddly enough, according to Evers himself, Tinker threw a speedball at Evers to turn a play, bending his finger back, to which Evers called him out. "He laughed. That's the last word we had…." The duo did not speak for years, but were all in for the team. "Tinker and myself hated each other," Evers said, "but we loved the Cubs." That attitude helped enshrine them both in Cooperstown. This incredible 1910 Broad Leaf Cigarettes T206 Johnny Evers with Bat, Chicago on Shirt in an SGC 4.5 holder is the highest graded issue in the hobby. This 4.5 from SGC tops PSA's 4 VG-EX example making this the most attractive of all with this rare Broad Leaf back. RARE and HIGHEST GRADED, how can you go wrong?
