(LOT 82)
1963 Topps #380 Ernie Banks PSA 9 MINT

'63 MR. CUB!!! In 1963, Chicago Cubs shortstop Ernie Banks was well on his way to induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. From 1953 to 1962, he had already hit 335 home runs and 230 doubles and amassed 962 RBIs over his first ten seasons. That's a career for most average sluggers. But Banks was far from average, especially considering he played shortstop, not necessarily a position that comes to mind when you think power. Banks played 19 seasons for the Northsiders in the Windy City, earning the nickname "Mr. Cub". He was a 14-time All-Star, won back-to-back National League MVP awards (1958-59) and won one Gold Glove. Offered here is a 1963 Topps #380 Ernie Banks PSA 9 MINT. This brilliant and colorful '63 Topps example of Mr. Cub is tops in the industry, as there are no cards graded higher than this 9 MINT heirloom. With a bold red bottom, snow-white upper borders and a crystal-clear image of the career-Cub, this presents with every expected element of a high-grade issue. The surfaces are flawless, both front and back. The goldenrod color of the back really pops. This card deserves a home in the finest of the finest collections!
