1912 Draper & Maynard Co. Commercial Baseball League Championship Trophy
The Draper and Maynard Company was formed in Plymouth, New Hampshire in 1875. A very innovative company for the era and was known for introducing the padded baseball glove. The company sold all manner of sporting goods and produced some of the finest baseball trophies of the period. This silver plate and copper trophy has a three-dimensional baseball, bat and catcher's mitt at base and stem. A decorative silver shield with a pointing dog, and is inscribed "D & M, Champions 1912, Commercial League" with the company's monogram. The trophy is signed Pairpoint MF'G. Co., marked with their trademark and numbered 83334 1/2. Pairpoint manufactured fine silver plate, lamps and glassware. The trophy measures 9" tall with a 4-3/8" diameter at the base and a 6" diameter at the top of the cup and measures 9-1/4" wide at the handles. The copper bowl is in good condition with some oxidation on the bottom of bowl and some wear to the silver plate. Overall very good condition.
