1953 Parkhurst #46 Terry Sawchuk PSA 9 MINT
SHUTOUT KING!!!... It took 21 years and 350 victories for Terry Sawchuk to set the all-time shutout record of 103 which stood for 39 years. Martin Brodeur broke the record in 2009 and retired as the all-time shutout leader with 124. But Sawchuk's place in history and the Hall of Fame were cemented forever. As the netminder from the Detroit Red Wings, during the no-mask era, Terry Sawchuk led the NHL for five straight seasons (1951-55) in wins, including his rookie campaign to win the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie, and was named to five All-Star games. During that span, Sawchuk won three of his four Vezina Trophies and three of his four Stanley Cups. Offered here is a 1953 Parkhurst #46 Terry Sawchuk graded 9 MINT by PSA. This is one of five at this highest grade. With spectacular centering, color and imagery, as well as a seemingly hand-written facsimile signature, it is abundantly clear why this is the highest graded. Unquestionably the finest we have ever offered.
