(LOT 1363)
1969 Topps #20 John Havlicek Rookie PSA 9 MINT

COUNTRY BOY HAVLICEK!!!... After leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to a national championship in 1960 alongside future HOFer Jerry Lucas and coaching great Bobby Knight, John Havlicek spent 16 seasons in Beantown playing small forward next to Bill Russell. With Bob Cousy, Sam Jones and Dave Cowens, among other HOFers, Havlicek helped lead the Boston Celtics to eight NBA championships. Hondo was named to 13 All-Star games, was All-NBA eleven times and was an eight-time All-Defensive player, making him one of the most rounded players of his era. His #17 has been retired by Boston, as has his #5 by his Ohio State alma mater. Offered here is a 1969 Topps #20 John Havlicek Rookie graded 9 MINT by PSA. Sporting the classic 1969 backwards uniform with his #17 on front, this issue presents virtually all of its original pack-fresh attributes, highlighted by a richly hued shooting pose, snow-white background and incredibly sharp perimeter and corners! Only a pair of cards top this high-grade example of one of the Celtics greats, let alone NBAers that ever stepped on the hardwood.
