(LOT 140)
1910 T206 Tris Speaker Drum 350/25 PSA 1 PR – One of Only Three PSA Examples!

DRUM SPEAKER!!!... Extremely rare, this PSA 1 PR 1910 T206 Tris Speaker marvel boasts the near-impossible-to-find Drum ad-back, one of only three examples listed on the illustrious PSA Pop Chart! Furthermore, SGC lists a meager two Drum Speaker's, with this issue's ultra-condition sensitivity justified by four of the five professionally graded examples reflecting 1 POOR assessments. Piecing together some of the scarcest T206 rare ad-backs is one of the most fascinating collecting angles in the hobby, with 39 possible combinations listed on the esteemed T206 Resource website. Generally considered to be "the Bible" of T206 cards, T206Resource.com lists the following six T206 cigarette ad-backs as the scarcest to find: Ty Cobb, Brown Old Mill, Brown Lenox, Broadleaf 460, Drum 350 and Uzit.

Indeed, capturing any T206 Drum Cigarette card is an excruciating task, let alone one boasting the exalted image of one of baseball's greatest all-time center fielders. The Gray Eagle's Hall of Fame career is substantiated by his resounding .345 lifetime batting average, 3,514 safeties, 792 record-setting doubles, and remarkable 449 outfield assists that proudly reside as baseball's pinnacle mark. While many legendary Speaker cards were issued during his 22-year career, only a handful can possibly exhibit the combined prestige and value of this near-impossible-to-locate 114-year-old Drum offering. Speaker's classic batting pose exhibits fine clarity and vibrant hues, somewhat compromised by surface imperfections on his BoSox cap as well as a glaring horizontal crease running completely across the card directly above his cap.

While additional flaws include severe corner layering, general surface wear, spotted spoiling and scattered wrinkles, the critical Drum 350 Subjects/Factor 25 plum color text has miraculously retained a majority of its original luster. As previously stated, finding any T206 subject with the hallowed Drum advertisement is a painstaking chore and a truly esteemed collector accomplishment, let alone one proudly portraying the iconic batting pose of the immortal Tristram Speaker. This exact offering just happened to sell for over $31K some three+ years ago in May 2021, with its current value to be determined by the T206 purists who wage a fierce battle for its final ownership!
