1943 Baseball Magazine Inside Cover Signed By Babe Ruth (PSA 8 Auto) and Ted Williams (Clubhouse) PSA/DNA LOA - Measures Approx. 7-1/2" x 9"
BAMBINO & THE KID!!!... Even into the 1940s, Babe Ruth was a big name in baseball and few players were more celebrated during that decade than Boston's Ted Williams. Williams finished second in American League MVP voting in 1941 and 1942, and became the last player in history to hit .400 or better when he batted .406 in 1941. If not for Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak, Teddy Ballgame surely would have captured his first MVP that season. In 1943, Ted Williams went on active duty in the Marine Corps as a naval aviator, missing three years in the prime of his career during World War II. In 1943, Ruth managed an All-Star baseball team of military personnel at Fenway that Williams returned to playing.

While we cannot confirm that the offered signed photograph was from that game, we can attest that this inside cover of Baseball Magazine from October 1943 was inked by the Bambino himself in black fountain pen. Corroborated by PSA/DNA's attached LOA, this PSA 8 "Sincerely Babe Ruth" signature is in fact from the Sultan of Swat, while the Ted Williams name and salutation was deemed "clubhouse" by PSA. This is an incredible 7-1/2" x 9" image of the US Marine uniformed Ted Williams lighting a cigar for the Bambino, printed on the inside cover of Baseball Magazine in 1943. PSA/DNA LOA included.
