Babe Ruth Signed Canceled Check PSA/DNA 9 MINT
It is no secret that impact the Babe Ruth had on the game of baseball, setting record after record, many of which have since been broken. However, his significance and consideration as the greatest baseball player in history led to his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in its inaugural class in 1936. Revolutionizing the game during the 1910s and ‘20s, Ruth ushered in power to a game that had previously been ruled by speed. Because of the Babe, sluggers like Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Mel Ott and teammate Lou Gehrig emerged. The Bambino ultimately retired with a record-setting 714 home runs in 1935. Offered here is a personal check written to "Ralph Leaf" in the amount of $9.78 dated August 12, 1942. By 1942, Babe Ruth had retired to a life of fishing, golf, bowling and leisure, but his autograph remains one of the most sought-after in the hobby some 82 years later. Signed "GH Ruth" in black fountain pen, PSA has assessed his signature as 9 MINT. Incredibly gorgeous check!
