GONNA FLY NOW!!!The plot of the enormously successful Rocky motion picture somewhat mirrored the actual production of the film itself, as a small-time boxer gets a shot to become “somebody”. Despite Sylvester Stallone’s penning the screenplay of the film, his insistence on playing the lead role was not well received by studio heads, and it took some goading to convince them otherwise. Execs didn’t think the “no name” Stallone could carry the film. In the end, Rocky won Best Picture; the "no-name" Sylvester Stallone was nominated for Best Actor and for Best Original Screenplay. Though the soundtrack was not nominated for Best Original Score, the iconic theme Gonna Fly Now, written by Bill Conti, Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins, was nominated for Best Original Song. Offered is a Rocky original score signed by Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers and Carol Connors in silver paint pen (8-9 strength overall). Missing only Bill Conti and actor Burgess Meredith.
