1938 Goudey #288 Bob Feller PSA 2 GOOD
SECOND-YEAR FELLER!!! With a fastball reaching three digits, unofficially, Bob Feller was one of the most successful pitchers in MLB history. Utilizing his blazing heater, Feller mixed in a sinker, slider, curveball and even a knuckleball into his repertoire to buckle the knees of batter and dazzle Cleveland fans for nearly two decades. Throwing his first Major League pitch as a 17-year-old, Bob Feller only posted a single losing campaign aside from his final year and he led the American League six times in wins during his 18-year career.
That untouchable fastball led to seven seasons as the AL's strikeouts leader. In 1948, as part of a rotation that featured fellow HOFer Bob Lemon and pitchers Gene Beardon and Mike Garcia, Feller helped lead the Indians to the second World Series title in franchise history. Presented here is one of Bob Feller's most popular issues is his 1938 Goudey, with this #288 PSA 2 offering his highly coveted second-year issue. This attractive "Big Head" Bob Feller displays good centering, wonderful color and clear, clean text on the reverse. This cartoon of Rapid Bob is one around which to build in a PSA 2 GOOD holder. This last card in the "Heads-Up" set is one to admire. Make you play now!
