The prestigious PSA graders have only encapsulated two higher examples than this awe-inspiring PSA 5 EX 1911 T3 Turkey Red Walter Johnson subject reflecting a very desirable Turkey Red ad back. Issued some 124 years ago, this momentous heirloom truly resides as one of the Big Train's most significant vintage issues, sparked by a captivating hands-at-chest pitching pose of the immortal Cooperstown inductee. By 1911, Johnson joined Mathewson as one of baseball's two premier pitchers, with the sidewinding fireballer winning 25 games, posting a 1.36 ERA, and leading the AL with 313 strikeouts in 1910. Johnson would end his remarkable 21-year career with modern-day unbreakable records of 417 wins and 110 shutouts. His classic image boasts a bright blue uniform and green grass hues, with the orange/yellow sky setting the final exclamation point for a breathtaking illustration. No glaring flaws are evident on either side, with some diminutive surface wear near the outermost two lower corners preventing a higher assessment.
