(LOT 159)
1977 Topps #450 Pete Rose PSA 10 GEM MINT

GEM MINT ROSE!!! From 1963 to 1977, Pete Rose became one of the most beloved players in Cincinnati, but one of the most hated hitters in EVERY other ballpark in the National League. At the close of the 1977 MLB season, Rose sat 34 hits shy of 3,000. He was the 1963 NL Rookie of the Year and the 1973 NL MVP and led the Reds to back-to-back World Series titles in 1975 & '76. How much more did he need for induction into the Hall of Fame. It turns out he needed ten more seasons, but that extra time may have cost him enshrinement into Cooperstown as his off-field habits ultimately doomed his eligibility. But there is this 1977 Topps #450 Pete Rose graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA. Great eye-appeal with Charlie Hustle poised to snag a hard grounder ripped into the hole. Perfect centering and color. This one offers a great legacy for baseball's career hit leader. Well worthy of its PERFECT 10 PSA grade. I'll bet this gets a lot of attention!
