Interestingly enough, the 1961 campaign would see the Chairman of the Board not only win 25 games to claim his only Cy Young award, but in Game Four of the Fall Classic against the Reds at Crosley Field, Ford would toss five shutout innings to eclipse Babe Ruth's World Series record of 29-2/3 scoreless innings.

The HOF southpaw would eventually extend his streak to 33-2/3 innings the following season, ultimately ending his career with 236 games to the tune of an unfathomable .690 winning percentage while posting a sensational lifetime 2.73 ERA.
