(LOT 34)
1928 George Ruth Candy Co. #2 Babe Ruth Blank Back PSA 7 NM – POP 1; Highest PSA Graded Example for ALL 6 Ruth Candy Co. Subjects!

HIGHEST GRADED RUTH!!! To commemorate Babe Ruth's overwhelming baseball dominance, in 1928 the George Ruth Candy Co. issued a six-card set portraying scenes from Ruth's popular Babe Comes Home movie as well as pictures of Ruth during his 1924 promotional West Coast tour. Presented here just happens to be the most coveted subject in the set, card #2 depicting an awe-inspiring Bambino batting image as well as a lower border eloquent caption reading "Knocked Out 60 Home Runs in 1927 – His Candy Helped Him". The SOLE and HIGHEST GRADED blank-back example, synonymous with the Babe's pinnacle all-time status, joins a paltry five other specimens for ALL SIX SUBJECTS as the finest of its kind!

These sepia-toned scarcities were issued the year after the Yankees assembled arguably the greatest team in baseball history, led by their swashbuckling icon George Herman Ruth, who swatted an unprecedented 60 home runs in 1927. Highlights include superb clarity, no glaring flaws, and a virtually dead-on 50/50 centered sepia-toned image as the Sultan of Swat completes his mighty swing. What could be more rewarding than capturing a captivating PSA 7 Pop 1 Babe Ruth batting pose heirloom issued at the height of his unparalleled career!
