(LOT 28)
1921 Herpolsheimer's Eddie Collins PSA 6 EX-MT – POP 1; Highest Graded Example on the Planet!

POP 1; HIGHEST GRADED!!! Any POP 1 highest graded example is momentous to say the least, let alone one portraying one of baseball's greatest all-time second-sackers. Indeed, this PSA 6 EX-MT Eddie Collins Herpolsheimer's proudly resides as the SOLE and HIGHEST GRADED specimen on the planet! The ultra-scarce 1921 Herpolsheimer's set mirrors the American Caramel E121 issue, with the exact same player poses utilized for both sets. However, while E121s are relatively easy to locate, Herpolsheimer's subjects are few and far between. PSA has encapsulated a meager three Eddie Collins examples (the other two are 6 MK and 3 MK copies), with only 74 Herpolsheimer's cards encapsulated for all of the known subjects.

Adding even more significance to this pinnacle PSA 6 Collins is the fact that there are only six other PSA 6s for ALL known subjects with a single PSA 7 (P.J. Kilduff). Showcasing a crystal-clear Collins batting image, the only negligible surface flaw is some factory-issued faint black spottiness to the right of Collins. The final thumbs-up is a bold HERPOLSHEIMER'S ad back, with this Collin's rarity standing tall as the undisputed finest of its kind!
