(LOT 1365)
1971 O-Pee-Chee #148 Guy Lafleur PSA 9 MINT

THE FLOWER!!! At the behest of hockey great Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur "took his (own) number and made it his own". Though Guy idolized the veteran center from his homeland of Quebec, Lafleur carved his own path to the NHL's Hall of Fame with tremendous speed, extraordinary playmaking ability, a wicked-hard shot as well as soft hands and a will to win. And win he did. Over his 17-year career with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques, Guy Lafleur won five Stanley Cups, all with the Canadiens. As a member of the Habs, Guy became the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals and amass 100 points or better in six consecutive seasons. He was a dynamo on the ice and earned induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988, having retired with 560 goals and 793 assists for a total of 1,353 points. The six-time All-Star won two Hart & three Art Ross trophies, three Lester B. Pearson Awards and won the Molson Cup (Montreal's MVP) seven times. Offered here is an incredible 1971 O-Pee-Chee #148 Guy Lafleur rookie card graded 9 MINT by PSA. This high-end O-Pee-Chee issue features all of the attributes expected for a 9 MINT example. There are only six examples graded higher than this and this is the finest that Memory Lane has ever had the pleasure to offer at auction.
