MUSIAL BACKUP!!! Hal Rice spent seven years in the big leagues, primarily for the St. Louis Cardinals, as the fourth outfielder backing up Stan Musial. When in the lineup, Rice proved to be an excellent RBI man and very good fielder posting a .970 fielding percentage when called on to relieve the Cardinals star. In 1952, playing 98 games, the most of his career, "Hoot" batted .288 with 45 RBIs, seven home runs and a .441 slugging percentage, all career highs. Offered is his 1953 Topps #93 graded 9 MINT by PSA. This super high-grade issue is one of only three at this lofty grade with zero graded higher. Presenting excellent borders, razor-sharp corners and edging, the central image of the Cardinals outfielder virtually leaps from the card with beautiful color and imagery.
