1986 Fleer Basketball 36 Pack Wax Box BBCE Authenticated with Steve Hart LOA
'86 FLEER WAX BOX!!! Along with the 1948 Bowman and 1961 Fleer basketball compilations, the arguable "Gold Standard" of all basketball sets is the 1986 Fleer issue, which includes 132 subjects. Each wax pack also included a separate sticker card, with only 11 different sticker subjects, of which nine are Hall of Famers. Of course, it's the iconic Michael Jordan standard '86 Fleer #57 rookie-era subject as well as his #8 Sticker card that sets the pace for this momentous cardboard issue. While gathering the individual players to build an entire set is an on-going task, locating unopened wax packs is now an equally significant endeavor. Presented here just happens to be an outstanding 1986 Fleer Wax Box, including 36 unopened packs! Authenticated by the hobby's foremost wax authenticator, Steve Hart from Baseball Card Exchange, Inc. (BBCE), this illustrious offering includes a BBCE LOA for ironclad authenticity. Most impressively, this LOA lists all of the '86 Fleer sticker subjects included in the 36 unopened packs, with the breakdown of the stickers as follows: #1 Abdul-Jabbar (3); #2 Bird (4); #3 Dantley (4); #4 English (4); #5 Erving (4); #6 Ewing (2); #7 Johnson (3); #8 Jordan (3); #9 Olajuwan (3); #10 Thomas (3); #11 Wilkins (3).
Incredible to say the least, imagine opening these captivating packs, knowing full well you have three pack-fresh Jordan sticker cards, all exhibiting a strong prospect for an extremely high grade. There will also be the possibility of pulling one, if not more, of the standard #57 Jordan subject, with these cards safely preserved within the packs for the past 37 years. Of course, there are a multitude of additional Hall of Famers to salivate over, including the #1 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar card, for both the sticker and basic set subjects, Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas and so many more basketball legends. For full disclosure, the BBCE LOA indicates that the box is not an original box as issued by Fleer, it appears to be very close to an original box with some packs removed or added. Most significantly, all 36 packs are 100% original and have not been tampered with, and BBCE has labeled this world-class offering as a "36 Pack Box". The 36-Count Fleer Box is in fine condition, with most of the general surface wear situated near the edges and corners. The entire box has been neatly sealed by BBCE. A treasure trove indeed, it turns back the clock to when the immortal Jordan, Jabbar, Bird, Johnson and so many more of their legendary peers graced the NBA's hardwood floor in dominating fashion!
