Finding any high-grade 1962 Topps card is an excruciating task, let alone one representing the Mick. This is due to the ultra-condition sensitive wood-grain borders that, similar to the 1955 Bowman and 1971 Topps issues, highlight even the slightest border flaws. The 1962 season would represent Mickey Mantle's final World Series title, with the Mick claiming his third AL MVP Award via his 30 round trippers, .321 batting average and .605 slugging percentage. His stoic portrait image depicts sparkling hues set against an impeccable powder blue sky background. The excellent centering is barely compromised by a slight partiality towards the right edge, and most significantly, the only visible border wear is evident at the upper corners' tips.
