(LOT 252)
1964 Pete Rose Game-Used Autographed Hillerich & Bradsby Model S2 Bat PSA/DNA GU 8

LOCAL BOY MADE GOOD!!! Pete Rose is one of only a few players to star for his hometown team and lead them to a World Series title, which he did as the sparkplug of the Cincinnati Reds' Big Red Machine in the 1970s. The 1964 season was somewhat of a sophomore slump for Charlie Hustle, but the beginning of an extraordinary career. Though his 139 hits in '64 were his lowest of the next 18 years, Rose would lead the National League seven times in hits as he ultimately retired as the Major League hit king with 4,256 base knocks. Pete Rose led the Reds to back-to-back titles in 1975 & '76 as he batted .302 with 13 hits over two World Series, and was named World Series MVP in 1975.

Memory Lane is proud to offer one of the earliest known game-used bats from Pete Rose during his second season in the Major Leagues. This 1964 Louisville Slugger S2 Pete Rose model bat measures 36.0 inches and weighs 32.5 ounces, and has been graded GU 8 by John Taube and PSA/DNA. This extraordinarily well-preserved, un-cracked ash bat, deemed game-used by PSA/DNA, shows several ball marks on the right, left and back barrel, and multiple nicks throughout the heart of the barrel. Pete Rose has inked his name in bold black Sharpie at the right of the Louisville Slugger logo with "1964" printed below in black.
