(LOT 251)
1963 Topps #537 Pete Rose Rookie PSA 7.5 NM+

FOUR ROOKIES!!! On everyone's want list is certainly the rookie issue of Pedro Gonzalez, Ken McMullen, Al Weis, and, of course, Pete Rose. Gonzalez, McMullen and Weis combined for 1,883 hits and 791 RBIs, but Rose would virtually double those numbers on his own with 4,256 hits and 1,314 RBIs over 24 years in the Majors. And though McMullen and Weis each won one World Series title, Rose led the Cincinnati Reds to two in 1975 & '76 and the Philadelphia Phillies to the 1980 title. The offered 1963 Topps #537 card of Rose and his fellow rookie counterparts is one of the most significant issues of the 1960s. Graded 7.5 NM+, this high-grade issue remains in superior condition with bright, bold colors, excellent clarity, and sharp corners and edges. Add to those attributes excellent centering, this key card from the 1963 Topps issue is attractive all the way around. Graded 7.5 NM+ by PSA, this one deserves a second look and should garner heavy attention as one card around which to build.
