MR. OUTSIDE!!! As a shooting guard for West Virginia University, Jerry West amassed 2,309 points and 1,240 rebounds over three seasons. West's dominance on the hardwood for the Mountaineers led to All-American honors, two SoCon Player of the Year nods and co-captaincy of the 1960 US Olympic Basketball team (with Oscar Robertson) that captured gold in Rome. The Minneapolis Lakers then took him as the 2nd overall pick of the 1960 NBA Draft. Jerry West would go on to become one of the greatest players and most influential figures in NBA history, retiring with 25,192 career points and 5,366 rebounds.
