(LOT 156)
1950 Bowman #22 Jackie Robinson PSA 7 NM

PACK-FRESH JACKIE!!! Iconic HOF second sacker Jackie Robinson turned the baseball world upside down when he broke the MLB color barrier in 1947, with this landmark occurrence arguably standing as our national pastime's most significant event. One of Jackie's most sought-after cards is his 1950 Bowman #22 subject, presented here in a spectacular PSA 7 holder. His diamond achievements include an MVP award, leading the Dodgers to six pennants and a world championship, hitting for average and power, and being one of the fiercest competitors the game has ever seen. Issued the year after Jackie claimed the 1949 MVP Award, this brilliant offering includes a picturesque batting pose exhibiting outstanding resolution, vibrant hues and square corners consistent with the grade. An incredible array of blue, green, brown, and gray hues creates a museum-quality image that does favor the upper left edges, and some standard toning is evident along the edges. Clean surfaces and vivid flipside typography are the final compliments for this pack-fresh marvel that has stubbornly defied father time over the past 73 years!
