1939 Play Ball (R334) #26 Joe DiMaggio PSA 8 NM-MT
YANKEE CLIPPER!!! Throughout his playing days and post-retirement years, Joe DiMaggio's persona was perceived with unequivocal respect, as he represented the ultimate embodiment of a national hero. One of his most sought-after cardboard mementos is his 1939 Play Ball #26 subject, presented here in a stellar PSA 8 holder. Most significantly, the card's awe-inspiring feature is the fine centering that only slightly favors the upper right edges, for it's no secret that a majority of the 1939 Play Ball DiMaggio subjects exhibit skewed images. The remaining aesthetics are likewise worthy of the hallowed grade, starting with the DiMaggio portrait, which emanates crystal-clear clarity and fine contrast. Pinpoint corners have retained nearly all of their original shape, and the relatively clean surfaces have defied time. Issued during the campaign when the Yankee Clipper would lead the Bronx Bombers to their fourth consecutive championship, this pack-fresh heirloom has been bested by only 0.9% of the total PSA encapsulated copies, effectively turning back the clock to when Joltin' Joe was embarking on his immortal legacy!
